Try Dives

Diving is a fantastic hobby, but, lets be truthful, its not for everyone. It therefore makes sense to see if you like it before committing a large amount of time, effort and some money into the sport.

Whether it be a Discover Scuba under PADI or Scuba Experience under the BSAC, the aim is the same; to let you experience your first breath underwater in a safe, controlled environment, where you can have fun.

At this stage you probably do not care whether you want to dive with PADI or BSAC, you just want to have get in the water, which is fine with us. Whichever you choose, the Try Dive can count towards the initial open water training.

But first a few safety bits and pieces. Even under expert tuition you cannot just get straight in, so when you arrive for your Try Dive we will spend a bit of time getting to know you, and you to know us. There will be a briefing, which will include safety issues and what we will be doing in the dive, followed by a bit of paperwork. If you are under 18 you will need to bring a parent or other adult who can sign for you, and they are going to have to listen to the briefing as well, even if they are not going to dive.

Then it's into the water. The equipment is already laid out for you so there is no hassle, and you are ready for your first underwater experience. At this stage we are totally flexible. If you just want to get used to breathing underwater then great, but once you are happy we will have a look at a few basic skills that you will need to master, just so that you can see what you are going to have to do on the course.

Once you have enjoyed your Try Dive we can have a chat about your experiences and where you want to go from there. If you enjoyed the dive but are not sure how you will feel in Open Water, we can arrange to do the same in Open Water. As with the pool session, if you complete the necessary skills on this dive then it can count towards your Open Water qualification.

All the equipment is provided (but you do need your own swimming costume!), so give us a call to get your Try Dive organised.
