BSAC Dive Leader
In the Dive Leader training, the emphasis is changed from the individual to the responsibilities and safety aspects of leading other divers on an open water dive. Practical lessons in rescue management and rescue skills will give you the confidence and ability to deal with any emergencies that might happen. Becoming a Dive Leader will increase your enjoyment, confidence and experience as a diver.
Course Overview
The Dive Leader Course has the following sections:
- Twelve classroom lessons - Theory Training
- A theory assessment
- Seven open water lessons
- Two dry practical lessons
The student also needs to have gained experience in a range of different conditions with at least twenty dives since qualifying as a Sports Diver. The Open water dives in the Dive Leader course may be included in this total.
